Comfort Women: Enhancing Students’ Global Awareness through Human Right Education

Abstract

Teaching about the comfort women of World War II offers a compelling case study for the social studies classroom and human rights education. The topic will educate students to become knowledgeable about the larger world and its dark histories that have been omitted or scarcely mentioned in U.S. history textbooks. This article provides high school social studies teachers with the historical background of comfort women, rationales for including this topic in social studies curriculum, and teaching strategies and resources that teachers can use in their classrooms.

1940年代，华北根据地出现严重困难局面。与此相对照，浪费现象在华北各根据地普遍存在着。为根除这一现象，中共采取了多种措施。这些措施的推行，在当时对肃清浪费现象、倡导节约之风起到了重要作用，对当今政府反对浪费、倡导勤俭也有重要启示。

How to keep Rosie the riveter from contracting VD: A case study of how U.S. social reformers used public relations during World War II

Much of public relations historiography on World War II focuses on the government uses of the function. This study fills a gap in the literature by exploring how a non-governmental organization called the American Social Hygiene Association (ASHA) used persuasion communication efforts to enlist the aid of management, labor, and local communities in the United States in the control of venereal disease (VD) rates. The case study advances a more diverse understanding of how activists have utilized public relations and found that the social reformers’ use of persuasive communications strategies and activities aligned with the view of public relations as the strategic and intentional participation in the social construction of meaning to achieve a planned outcome.     

‘Occupation Children’ in Germany after World War II — Problems and Coping Strategies

The article focuses on the autobiographical memories of people born in Germany after the Second World War, whose mothers were local women and whose fathers were members of the allied forces. Based on the analysis of narrative interviews, we ask how these people experienced their growing up and their sociocultural environment in the post‐war era, and what kind of coping strategies they developed to deal with adverse living conditions.     

全面抗战时期大后方大学教师和学生生活水平结构研究

全面抗战时期，受战时通货膨胀影响，大后方大学教师和学生群体的生活水平迅速下降，但与真正意义上的"赤贫阶层"尚有距离，决定大学教师和学生生活水平的关键要素相比战前已发生变化。战前大学教师的生活水平结构与教师职级、教育水平紧密相关，而战时大后方大学教师的生活水平结构则受到薪金、兼职、家庭负担等多方面因素的共同制约。战前大学生的主体是社会中间阶层出身的子弟，校园内的生活水平结构呈"橄榄型"，战时大后方大学校园内的生活水平结构则截然二分为富裕和清贫学生两部分，清贫学生成为学生群体中的主体。全面抗战时期大后方大学教师和学生生活水平结构的变化，既有战时客观因素的制约，也受到国民政府相应教育政策的影响。     

高校图书馆日文古籍文献价值的开发与利用

高校图书馆拥有很多古旧文献、古籍资料,这些文献如果得到妥善的利用,将有很高的经济价值和研究价值。而这类文献中有部分日文原文资料,大部分都是1945年以前旧日文资料,本文以这些旧日文献资料为例,通过对这些珍贵文献资料的来源、出版地、作者和出版背景、文献类型、文献内容进行挖掘、整理、翻译、解析和研究,使其有价值的东西展现出来,旨在为读者提供系统、完整的外文文献检索,以便更好地服务于高校及社会的广大科研工作者,服务于教学与科研。     

论团结抗日民族政策的历史作用

为了抗日图存,中国共产党制定了团结抗日的民族政策———建立抗日民族统一战线,主张民族平等和民族团结,各少数民族有自治之权,帮助少数民族发展经济文化,尊重其语言文字和宗教习惯的自由。陕甘宁边区和其他抗日根据地认真贯彻执行了党的民族政策,从而有力地推动了各少数民族的英勇抗战,赢得了抗日战争的最后胜利。     

抗战时期“西进运动”对河南人口的影响

日本发动全面侵华战争及中国东部频繁的自然灾害导致大量人口流离失所,为求生存,在国民政府西迁政策号召下,全国范围掀起了人口"西进运动"。人口大省河南不仅人口数量迅速减少,人口结构也有变化(表现在年龄性别、职业、教育等方面),而且打破了传统东多西少的人口地理分布。河南人口的西迁,对缓解人地矛盾、加快偏远地区开发等方面有较大的积极作用,但由战争引发的被动迁移也给国民经济带来严重破坏。
